Midnight Ball (MATURE!)

Tonight was the night of a royal ball. They were rare but defiantly important events. The ballroom was already full of dancing and merriment by the time Yorolic and the Auger Family had entered. Most in attendance were other fellow vampires but there were a few exceptions.

“Let’s join in the dance.” Lady Auger said to Lord Auger practically dragging him down the steps. Yorolic stood aside and just watched surveying the scene. The possibility of assassination was low here. This castle was one of the most well-guarded places in the kingdom. Even Yorolic’s own blade wasn’t allowed pasted the many checkpoints, not that he needed it.

Soon a severing, a human surprisingly, came with drinks. Blood mixed in with a bit of vampire wine. Stuff would taste horrible to the human if she had drank it which was probably the reason she was assigned to the taste. Yorolic just shook his head no to her so that she could go offer it to someone else.

The half-moon was shining beautifully through the tapestries that hung from the windows. The host of the party must have planned for it. A band was playing dancing music near the corner which could fill the whole ballroom. It defiantly looked like fun down there but Yorolic didn’t really plan on joining. He wasn’t too confident in his dancing skills.

Kyron leaned against the cool marble wall, sighing softly as he watched the crowd engage in different merrymaking activities.
He could see the Lady and Lord Auger coming in down the steps, grinning slightly at the lady's enthusiasm. No one saw this, of course, as he was simply standing off to the side and watching everything.

A few times, he was offered bloodwine (which he refused, his stomach lurching slightly at the smell), and his interest in the entire event was beginning to wane.

At least the dance was better than his days at work....Kyron shook his head, preferring not to think about that at the time being.

Eventually, he made his way up the stairs, down a separate hallway, eventually emerging at a balcony that overlooked the dance hall and was open to a window.
A great view of the ball, and a great view of the outdoors; it was a perfect place for him to stay. The tapestries were really pretty too...

Kyron did not notice the other man that was there.

Yorolic watched as the other boy (they were all boys thanks to the age thingy vampires had) walked near. “You seem familiar.” Yorolic said stepping out of the comforting shadows. “Where you at Scyler by chance?” He then asked friendly. Though he could remember faces names were a totally other matter. Though they may have glanced each other at the academy it was unlikely that they had any classes together except for maybe that one training exercise….

Kyron almost jumped, the voice of the other boy surprising him.
"Um...Yeah, I was. Were you there too?" he hadn't much memory of this boy, but his face seemed familiar as well.

Kyron shifted uneasily, feeling uncomfortable talking with the strange boy. He had a phobia of sorts, of men in particular....

Mostly that was because of Kora.

“Yeah I was there.” He answered back not coming any closer. Yorolic could tell Kyron was uneasy, one of the things that were taught at the academy was reading stances. “Is something wrong?” Yorolic then asked. Couldn’t have an assassin getting nervous now, but Yorolic doubted that was the case.

Kyron hesitated once more.
"I'm not really feeling well," he laughed nervously, scratching the back of his neck.
Great, now someone was going to think he was weak. Or nervous. Or something that would reflect negatively on him as a 'man'.
Oh, how he wished he had attended the ball as Lady Kora rather than Kyron...

“Very well” Yorolic said. He could tell that he was hiding something but pressing on would probably get no-where. “I’m Yorolic Lladd by the way.” He then told Kyron. Names would probably ease the ice.

The boy nodded. The name Yorolic sounded familiar...didn't he have something to do with the Auber family?
"I'm Kyron," he said in response, not providing a surname. Mainly because he didn't have one.
Hopefully, this conversation would end soon..and when it did, Kyron would hurry home, and shift back to her real form; as Kora.
She couldn't stand this ball for much longer...
